The most famous battle in history took place on Sunday 18 June 1815, when the French Army under self-proclaimed emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, marching on Brussels, was stopped at Waterloo by an army of British Redcoats, Germans and Dutch led by the Duke of Wellington.  After nine hours of fierce fighting the French found themselves outflanked by the advancing Prussians headed by Field Marshal Blücher and were roundly defeated.  The cost in lives was immense – 50,000 men killed or severely maimed. The men exonerated in the Malcolm X killing will receive $36 million

NEW YORK — The city of New York is settling lawsuits filed on behalf of two men who were exonerated last year for the 1965 assassination of Malcolm X, agreeing to pay $26 million for the wrongful convictions which led to both men spending decades behind bars. The state of New York will pay an additional $10 million. David Shanies, an attorney representing the men, confirmed the settlements on Sunday. Read More...
